Ashab al-Yamin
Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (Arabic: ØرÙØ© أصØاب اÙÙÙ Ù٠اÙإسÙا٠ÙØ©, lit.â'Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand'), commonly known as Ashab al-Yamin or HAYI,[1][2] is an Islamic Republic of Iran-linked jihadist proxy and propaganda network that has taken credit for attacks against Jewish schools, synagogues and charities in Europe.
In addition to targeting anything related to Jewish people, it has also attacked Christian and Western targets in Europe, as well as American and Iranian opposition targets, since March 2026.
Still, the group's crimes have primarily focused on attacks on London's Jewish community, with additional attacks across Europe. It is a front group for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which outsources the attacks to local criminals â a method Iran has used to target Jews in previous years â and uses the group to create plausible deniability.
The attacks have been investigated by counter-terrorism police, with 37 arrests already made, and additional police resources dedicated to preventing and responding to attacks.
The group operates primarily through pro-Iran regime Telegram channels and promotes radical Islamist ideology, framing attacks on random Jews as a fake "defense" of "humanity [borrowing Nazism], the Al Aqsa Mosque, palestine, and Palestinian prisoners [AKA terrorists]."[3]
The Times take
Per The Times[4]:
- **Ashab al-Yamin** (full name: *Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia*, meaning âIslamic Movement of the People of the Right Handâ) is a **little-known militant group that emerged after the Iran war began in late February 2026**.
- The group **claims responsibility for multiple attacks targeting Jewish communities in the UK and Europe**, including the **Golders Green double stabbing**, arson attacks, and even an alleged drone plot against the Israeli embassy in London.
- **Its credibility is disputed**:
- Early on, it appeared more credible because it **posted attack details and videos on Telegram**, sometimes being the first source of information.
- More recently, **security analysts believe it may be exaggerating or falsely claiming attacks**, possibly âpiggy-backingâ on unrelated incidents.
- The **Israeli government says the group is linked to Iranâs Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)** and may be used to conduct attacks in Europe.
- Some attacks (especially arson) resemble **IRGC tactics of hiring criminals to carry them out**.
- Regardless of the groupâs true role, **the threat to Jewish communities in the UK is real and rising**:
- Antisemitic incidents have **doubled since the October 7 attacks on Israel**, averaging **308 per month**.
- Jews are **six times more likely** to be victims of religious hate crimes than other groups.
- The situation has **intensified further since the Iran war began**.
- A **wave of recent incidents** includes:
- Arson attacks on Jewish properties, synagogues, and businesses
- Attacks on emergency vehicles (Hatzola ambulances)
- Graffiti and attempted firebombings
- A suspected wider **arson conspiracy targeting Jewish venues**
- **Police investigations and arrests are ongoing**, with multiple suspects detained or bailed across different incidents.
- The situation has **increased pressure on the UK government** to introduce new laws to **ban (proscribe) groups like the IRGC and Ashab al-Yamin as terrorist organizations**.
- The prime minister has confirmed such legislation is expected soon.
- Bottom line:**
Ashab al-Yamin is a **new, possibly Iran-linked militant group of uncertain credibility** that claims involvement in a surge of anti-Jewish attacks in the UK, but **even if its role is unclear, the rise in antisemitic violence is well-documented and escalating**.
