Atheistic sports have some or all of the following characteristics:

  • hostile to Bible-quoting players, as the NFL is
  • exclusion of prayer
  • fundamentally pagan in nature
  • overtaken by gambling interests
  • more addictive than genuinely enjoyable
  • demonic in nature or effect
  • tend to bring participants and fans to emotional and/or physical decline
  • panders to the liberal media

The NFL is a leading example of an atheistic sport, and there are others.

Counterexamples

Chess is a counterexample, with its pieces (especially the bishop) based on Holy Roman Empire. In addition, top players read the Bible or are otherwise devoutly religious. Bobby Fischer went from being non-religious to requesting a Catholic burial after a lifetime of playing chess.
