Daniel Jay Cameron (born November 22, 1985, age 38) is the conservative Attorney General of Kentucky and the Republican nominee for governor in 2023. On July 19, 2023, he picked a conservative running mate, Robby Mills, who has a track record of attracting Dem voters to the Republican side.[1] Incumbent Dem Gov. Andy Beshear is a puppet of the transgender agenda, twice vetoing bills to protect kids from operations (SB 150) and girls from boys' invading their sports (SB 83). Beshear was overridden by the legislature on both vetoes.[2]
Endorsed by U.S. President Donald Trump,[3] Cameron was elected Kentucky Attorney General in 2019 beating his white privileged Democrat opponent by 58% to 42%, becoming the state's first black Attorney General and the first Republican AG in seventy years.[4] Cameron takes conservative positions,[5] in particular a strong stance against illegal immigration.[6]
Cameron is running for governor of Kentucky in 2023, against the Democrat incumbent Andy Beshear. Against a well-funded opponent backed the Establishment and Never-Trumpers 2024, Cameron won the GOP primary in a landslide on May 17, 2023.[7] The highly credible Emerson College final poll for his race showed a dead heat the general election in November 2023.
