Dim sum (Simplified: 点心; Traditional: 點心; Hanyu pinyin: diǎn xīn) is the name for a southern Chinese cuisine which involves a wide range of light dishes served with tea. Common dishes in dim sun include jiaozi, steamed buns, noodles and char siu. Dim sum originated in Sichuan, but it is common throughout the country and is especially popular in Hong Kong.
