The Haitian Massacre was an event that was ordered by Haitian President later Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines in 1804 in order to genocide all the White people from the newly freed Haiti. Around 3,000-5,000 men, women, and children were killed, with the survivors moving to the Spanish side of Hispaniola (today known as the Dominican Republic) or to Louisiana. Dessalines was proud of it, and often boasted it until his assassination in 1806.
