J.B. Pritzker was elected the Democrat governor of Illinois. He defeated incumbent Republican Governor Bruce Rauner in the 2018 midterm elections and was inaugurated on January 14, 2019.[1]

Upon winning election in 2018, Pritzker became the wealthiest oligarch to hold public office in the United States.[2][3] In 2018, he had an estimated wealth of $3.4 billion.[4]

Shortly after assuming office, Pritzker signed an executive order requiring taxpayers to fund abortions by state employees.[5] He later signed one of the most extreme pro-abortion bills in the country that practically allowed unlimited abortion.[6]
