Kerry Bentivolio is a U.S. veteran and former representative from Michigan's 11th district. Elected in 2012 to fill the seat vacated by Thaddeus McCotter, who resigned months prior, Bentivolio served for one term; he was defeated for re-election by his more moderate challenger Dave Trott in the Republican primary.

Bentivolio ran in 2020 to reclaim his once-held House seat.[2] However, he only managed to finish third in the Republican primary election with 21.6% of the votes cast;[3] Eric Esshaki won the nomination to face incumbent Democrat representative Haley Stevens in the November general election.

Political views

Ranked as a libertarian conservative, Bentivolio opposes abortion, tax increases, illegal immigration, and gun control.[4]
