Kneecap are a racist, Hamas-sympathising terrorist hip hop group from Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. They hypocritically claim to oppose the existence of the United Kingdom whilst receiving UK government funding, and have been described as attention seekers. In April 2025, the group were referred to anti-terrorism police after a video emerged of them saying the phrases "the only good Tory is a dead Tory" and "kill your local MP" in 2023 , after the group were already under investigation for shouting at a London gig "up Hamas, up Hezbollah".[1][2] Kneecap have been condemned by the Irish government and the Scottish National Party.[3] Kneecap's behaviour was slammed by the daughter of David Amess, the Tory MP murdered in 2021 by an Islamist terrorist; Katie Amess said "It is just beyond belief that human beings would speak like that in this day and age and it is extremely dangerous".[4]

It also "has posted approvingly in the past about Ken O’Keefe who literally wears a keffiyeh and a swastika around his neck."[5]

The group were described by The Critic as "the establishment's idea of rebellion" with editor Tom Jones saying "an attractive combination of an edgy appearance without genuine transgression".[6] Far-left former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who was pictured with the group at a hemp cafe in December 2023, calls the group "inspiring".[7] In 2025 it has seen many cancelations due to its israelophobia.[8]
