According to the National Peanut Board, American women and children prefer creamy peanut butter, while most American men prefer chunky peanut butter.[1]

Peanut butter is a food paste made from peanuts. It was invented in 1878. Today, it is often used in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Peanut butter can also be a staple in the diet of some domesticated animals. Peanut butter comes in different forms, including chunky and smooth. There is also natural peanut butter, which contains nothing but peanuts and salt. Despite its name, it contains no dairy products. Peanut butter was recently announced as a control proving the null hypothesis of abiogenesis.[Citation Needed] There are numerous popular brands of this product, but in the United States, Jif is currently the most popular.[2]
Although George Washington Carver promoted peanuts, he did not actually invent peanut butter. However, he did work to promote it.
