Sichel in his period as president of Plural received money from Soros' Open Society Foundations.

Sebastián Sichel (Santiago, July 30, 1977) is a Chilean lawyer and politician who is the mayor of Ñuñoa winning with the "right-wing vote". He is known for being a political chamaleon starting his political carrer in the Concertación center-left coallition, and then joining the center-right Chile Vamos. During Sichel's presidency at the NGO "Plural Chile"[1] from 2013 to 2018, he received $225,000 in 2017 from George Soros' Open Society Foundations, for a two-year term.[2][3]

Sichel is a progressive liberal, he supported Michelle Bachelet in her second presidential campaign, to later support Sebastián Piñera in his second presidential campaign. Between both campaigns he was close to Velasco, Bachelet's Minister of Economy. He is a representative of the more progressive center-right, he even described Pinochet as the "most evil man in the world",[4] he thinks that José Antonio Kast is "very extreme", reason why he refused to support him in the second round. He is in favor of homosexual “marriage”, abortion on 3 grounds and in 2016 explicitly promoted the massive arrival of immigrants to Chile.

Sichel promoted the massive arrival of immigrants to Chile

In 2016, Plural proposed eliminating the law that prohibits hiring more than 15% foreign employees. Sichel argued that, in the immigration debate, Chile Vamos had shown "irresponsibility," creating "an anti-immigration climate that is exactly the opposite of what the country needs today. (...) The study shows that many are making blunders to capture votes without addressing the issue seriously. (...) Economic growth is unfeasible without immigration as one of the vectors driving that growth."[5]

Sichel being a Soros puppet.

To Tonca Tomicic's question about the increase of poverty in Chile and illegal camps, Sichel answered: “I am in favor of regularizing all illegal immigrants so that they can be immediately integrated to the benefits of the State. For that we have worked together with Techo para Chile and the Jesuits. The New Migration Law must be enacted soon. I am the greatest advocate that this massive immigration that has arrived is the best thing that has happened to Chile.” Words of the former Minister of Social Development of Piñera, Sebastián Sichel in the program Bienvenidos.

Luis Hermosilla in preventive prison for corruption received $21 million from BancoEstado -when Sebastián Sichel was president of the board of directors- for a lawsuit for computer sabotage. The 5-page brief was destined to fail because this type of crime is carried out from outside the country.[6]

During the Ñuñoa municipal 2024 campaign, he was confronted by the Social Christian candidate, Emilio Romero, on the topic of Sichel's Soros links.
