A '''sandwich''' (or "butty") is the name given to a popular lunchtime food consisting of a filling (such as [[meat]] or [[cheese]]), sandwiched between two pieces of [[bread]]. Condiments such as [[mayonnaise]], [[ketchup]], and [[mustard]] are commonly used to add extra flavour to the sandwich. The beauty of the sandwich is that the possibilities for fillings are almost endless and that the [[bread ]] keeps one from getting the filling on one's hands allowing them to be eaten anywhere.
