Debate: Is there a Purgatory before Judgment Day (view source)
Revision as of 03:07, August 11, 2020
, 03:07, August 11, 2020→No. Purgatory doesn't exist. The concept of purgatory is unbiblical
:*'''John 5:4''' - ''Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me '''has eternal life.''' He '''does not come into judgment''', but has passed from death to life.''<ref>https://biblehub.com/john/5-24.htm</ref>

Note: Eternal life begins now, present tense. ''Now is the day of salvation.''<ref>https://www.biblehub.com/esv/2_corinthians/6.htm</ref> Most importantly for the Chrisitan beleiver, salvation means being saved from judgement. No Christian believer who has been spiritually born - ''passed from death to life'' - shall come into judgement. Judgement is reserve only for sinners condemned to hell. Hence we can see from these words of Jesus alone that Roman Catholic doctrine does not preach the good news of scripture.
