| | Hello! This is probably not the best place to discuss it but I am not aware of better places so... can we have something to automatically format a citation (such as a news article) into a proper format, such as with author name, source, date, title, url, accessed date, etc. etc.? On WP I only know to do this with the visual editor (maybe there is also a way with source editing? I do not know). I am asking because your user page says requests for automation is welcomed, so here I am :) --[[User:Luminoxius|Luminoxius]] ([[User talk:Luminoxius|talk]]) 02:33, 19 May 2021 (EDT) | | Hello! | | + | :Hi, I'm certainly happy to discuss such things! So you are thinking of a tool which helps you properly format a reference before you publish it? I don't edit on WP, so I'm not familiar with how they do this. Are you thinking of bibliography formatting in general (such as [https://www.bibme.org/mla/website-citation/new BibMe], [https://www.easybib.com/mla-format/website-citation/custom EasyBib], and [https://www.mybib.com MyBib] offer) or a tool which specifically formats and fills in one of our ref templates, so you can just paste in that pre-generated template block? --[[User:DavidB4|<font color="ForestGreen">DavidB4</font>]] ([[User talk:DavidB4|TALK]]) 10:56, 19 May 2021 (EDT) |
