Joshua was the designated successor of [[Moses]] who led the [[Israelites]] into the promised land.
He killed the entire population of [[Jericho]] and [[Ai]], and defeated the combined forces of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon. God made the sun stand still in the sky so he had more time to kill everyone. He also massacred the 22 kingdoms of Hazor (Joshua 11:14).
He killed the entire population of [[Jericho]] and [[Ai]], and defeated the combined forces of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon. God made the sun stand still in the sky (figuratively speaking - since the Earth actually revolves around the Sun, and not vice versa) so he had more time to kill everyone. He also massacred the 22 kingdoms of Hazor (Joshua 11:14).
A famous quote by Joshua is 'As for me and my house I will serve the LORD', often appearing on Christian memorabilia.
