Defintion of "inhabitants"

The hebrew is כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי הָעָי which means litterally "all who dwelled in Ai". Now, I'm not aware of anywhere where such language is used and it doesnt mean every single one. JoshuaZ 00:38, 26 May 2007 (EDT)

I would agree with you. But then the sentence in the article was "The inhabitants of both cities were put to the sword". In our language unless there is a modifier such as "some" then it is assumed that all the inhabitants were killed. If someone really had a difficulty where they thought it was unclear, I could even understand an edit putting the word all in front, although it is not necessary. But when it's changed to be "every man, woman, and child" then it's just for the sensationalism aspect. Learn together 03:18, 26 May 2007 (EDT)
