| − | :I am with Corry and BRichtigen: The rules may not be a suicide pact, but that doesn't mean that sysops and wannabe-sysops can simply go all Wild West on whoever they don't like. The rules are already biased against those with no special rights and those who dare to bring up abuse or to point out that those in power made an innocent mistake, but these days, they are effectively discarded in favor of pure "might makes right". | + | :::I am with Corry and BRichtigen: The rules may not be a suicide pact, but that doesn't mean that sysops and wannabe-sysops can simply go all Wild West on whoever they don't like. | − | :And yes, I completely expect to be banned or blocked for some convenient reason, too. Wouldn't be my first block for complaining here about abuse, even. --AlanS 16:58, 16 December 2008 (EST) | + | :::And yes, I completely expect to be banned or blocked for some convenient reason, too. | − | ::AlanS, are you always prone to hysterical ranting? Ed Poor didn't use a block (My word, one day!) to win an argument. He wasn't arguing, BRichtigen was, over a very short block, and according to our Guidelines, Ed Poor was completely within his rights in the blocking. The CP Desk was created by Geo. He and I discussed it before he did, and it was discussed among the most senior of sysops before it went up. So I guess I would know better than 99% of the people here what it is for. It is a place where actual abuse could be reported, not a place for "me-tooism" or piling on, or endless rants against "the man". I don't have a problem with complaints, succinctly stated, without hyperbole and just plain hysterics. But when others randomly decide to enter into things mindlessly, that never concerned or effected them, like Corry, and now you, it does bother me. Look at Corry's contributions. If ever someone was here only to argue and talk, talk, talk, it is him. There isn't some giant conspiracy against you, Corry or anyone else. Contribute actual content where you can, where your complicated ideology will allow you to, and argue less. You undoubtedly will be surprised as to how much more respect you will have, and how much closer people will listen to you! --₮K/Talk! 17:37, 16 December 2008 (EST) | + | :::*AlanS, are you always prone to hysterical ranting?
