The '''United Nations''' is a [[globalism|globalist]] organization of countries all over the world. Originally created to facilitate cooperation in [[international law]], international security, economic development, and [[human rights]].  It was founded in 1945 at the signing of the United Nations Charter by 51 countries. In doing so it replaced the League of Nations which was founded in 1919 after the first world war. The UN currently has 192 members which is almost all the countries in the world. Non-members include [[Taiwan]] and [[Vatican City]]. By the 1960s, the General Assembly, although powerless, became a shrill sounding board for anti-American sentiment. Unfortunatly this continues despite the fact the United Nations would cease to function without United States funding.
