According to Barnes at Vive Frei, Lagoa has it. She's from Florida (swing state), a Cuban, and got 80 votes for the Court of Appeals a year ago. Barrett's recently pro-lockdown ruling in Illinois gives her away as an establishment type. about 10:00 min in RobS^{Free Kyle!}

Is Lagoa necessarily thoroughly conservative on social issues, though? My concern is that if we nominate her over Barrett, we may potentially get another Gorsuch.

Barnes goes into how judges promote themselves to get political backing to promote their career, He uses Roberts as the best example. Personally I was startled when I heard Barrett was a charismatic and not devout Catholic (observant or devout means she regularly attends Mass and communion. As charismatic, I'm sure hasn't done either in years). So, we've been sold a bill of goods about her catholicism. Now who, pray tell, sold the media on the idea that's she a devout Roman Catholic, when in fact she's rejected Roman Catholic teaching? A Charismatic Catholic can say, "I'm Catholic and I attend church regularly". Bio writers and journalists can assume that means "devout Catholic" or "observant Catholic". Is she obligated to correct it? Not necessarily. I don't doubt that she may have strong anti-abortion feelings, but one thing is certain, she rejects Roman Catholic teaching.
