Talk:Buffalo, New York
Fictional pothole crisis - not supported by the footnote. The footnote, which was a Bing search results, didn't have a single listing saying there is a pothole crisis in Buffalo.
Also, unlike Russia, people are moving to Buffalo and not fleeing it![1] Buffalo does not have a demographic crisis! Conservative (talk) 13:44, November 2, 2024 (EDT)
- Russia ranked #99 in the world in road quality, 2019. Russia's Pothole Predicament, 2017. "An estimated 40 percent of rural villages are not connected to a paved road. In 1999 an estimated 43 percent of federal roads (which account for 46,000 kilometers and half of the country’s trucking volume) did not meet minimum quality standards because of broken surfaces, poor marking, and poor lighting. Road conditions are a major factor in Russia’s very high rate of traffic casualties. The road crisis is exacerbated by steady increases in vehicle volume. [Source: Library of Congress, October 2006 **]. Automobile travel is expanding, but the construction of new roads is not keeping pace. Some dreamers believe that in the not too distant future, the pot-holed roads will be replaced with a network of modern highways and goods will thus be moved overland by truck rather than railway."[2] Conservative (talk) 13:54, November 2, 2024 (EDT)
- Also, the USA has better roads than Russia.[3]
- What does Russia have to do with Buffalo's pothole crisis?
- Man, there is something seriously wrong with your brain.
- You must be a low IQ person. If you haven't noticed, the planet is in the midst of a great migration, kinda like when Attila the Hun invaded Europe, or when the Germans migrated to settle on the borders of the Roman Empire, or when Columbus discovered the Western hemisphere. Everything you thought you knew about population statistics and demographics is outdated.
- Then we have this gem you put in the edit summary: unlike Russia, people are moving to Buffalo and not fleeing it! Buffalo does not have a demographic crisis!
- Say hello to your new neighbors migrating to Buffalo for the good life: Feces RUNS DOWN THE WALLS! African ILLEGAL ALIENS DESTROY Ohio town. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 16:15, November 2, 2024 (EDT)
- And you're wrong again, as usual:
| “ | Now home to 276,807 people, Buffalo's population declined by 303,325, or 52.3%, since 1950, when its population totaled 580,132. Over that period, the city went from the 15th most populous in the United States to the 78th. [4] | ” |
- It appears to me you must think that you and I are in some sort of a discussion or debate about Russia. We're not. As anyone (except you) can see how you revert my efforts to share information with you on your talk page, which is what it was designed for, and any normal person understands. RobSThe Truth. Talk about liberal claptrap...
"In Buffalo, immigrants and refugees drive population growth, improve quality of life".
Or this gem: immigrants are attracted to "its affordable living cost of living". Yah, the illegal immigrants are attracted to poverty centers & ghettos where the "cost of living" is "affordable" and they will "improve the quality of life". RobSThe Truth. - The city saw growth in population between the census of 2010 and 2020. That is what the 2021 article states. And from 2016 to 2020, the USA had good border control under Trump.
- Also, the 2021 academic source says: "it's affordable cost of living" (That is also given as a factor). And cities where a very substantial portion of the city are ghettos with high crime like Detroit and Philadelphia are generally not immigrant magnets where cities are increasing in population. People are often leaving those cities. Regardless, that is a moot point as much of Buffalo was gentrified between 2011 to 2019 and as a result crime dropped in the city (See: Balancing act: UB study links gentrification to reduced crime, but downsides of gentrification can’t be ignored and Gentrification and crime in Buffalo, New York). In addition, Buffalo has a lot of universities/colleges and suburbs with decent/good schools as far as academic performance so that helps as far as upward income opportunity. Can't have a fantasy article that deviates from what the sources actually say.
RobSmith, you can't have a fantasy article that deviates from what the sources actually say. You can't just make things up. See my edit comments. Conservative (talk) 15:13, November 3, 2024 (EST)
- You are not documenting your claims via sources. You are making up claims. Show me the sources saying what you claim they say. Conservative (talk) 15:23, November 3, 2024 (EST)
- RobSmith, I don't mind unflattering facts about Buffalo being the article. I could care less if this is done. But don't make things up. Have the material be supported with facts and not be some fictions that you want to be true. Conservative (talk) 15:54, November 3, 2024 (EST)
You tried to strike me down Buffalo troll, but as a God-fearing child of the Almighty I am still not as narcissistic as you whose city has greatly declined since 1950. I laugh at your pothole filled city that is a fountainhead of migration. Buffalo has been called the "the Queen City of New York"

- In 2023, Buffalo was ranked #1 for having the highest percentage of residents born in the state of residence (a.k.a natives) as it had 81.69% native residents.[5] Areas that have a high retention rate, tend to have a high quality of life. Areas that have people leaving it, generally don't have a high quality of life. And the suburbs of Buffalo has some excellent places to live in as far as their economic status and low amount of crime. For example example, Amherst, NY, which is a suburbs of Bufflao, ranks in the top 15 on list of safest mid-size cities in US.[6] In addition, the USA continues to have a ton of people who want to move it.
- Next, from 2010 to 2019, Buffalo had a ton of money poured into it ("Buffalo Billion" had `$1.5 billion poured into Buffalo and Buffalo has a lot of gentrification money put into it) and it saw about 17,000 people added to the city between 2010 and 2020. If memory serves, it's true though that the peak of Buffalo's prominence was the dawn of the 20th century when it was one of the most populous cities in the USA which is why the World Fair was held in Buffalo then.
- Various geographic areas have "queen cities" (Second largest cities, a city in which the population is larger than the capital of that state, province, or territory, etc.). This is nothing earth shattering.
- There is no source saying that Buffalo currently has a pot-filled city or has a pot hole epidemic. This was made up on your part.
- Lastly, I could care less if you add unflattering information about Buffalo, NY. Just don't purposefully insert fictions that you want to be true that you don't support. Conservative (talk) 16:47, November 3, 2024 (EST)
