Talk:Lori Lightfoot

From Conservapedia
Jump to: navigation, search

I joined as an editor this evening because I'd like to help build a truly unbiased store of knowledge. In this endeavor I believe that one of the most important disciplines of professional journalism, and encyclopedic writing, is for such writing to be free of subjective adjectives. For the same reason that I would challenge an article which presented President Donald Trump as the "RACIST 45th President of the United States", I am asking here why Conservapedia would want to have an article on Lori Lightfoot which opens up with "Lori Lightfoot (born August 4, 1962) is the current CORRUPT FASCIST Democrat mayor of Chicago.

I am a Conservative. In my personal opinion Lori Lightfoot is a terrible mayor. Her ideology and her policies are perfectly aligned with all that is destructive in the Left Wing forces that are wrecking havoc in the United States at this time. This established, I feel that it's a terrible disservice to this new project which I'd love to see thrive as a beacon of good, honest American writing, to have that opening sentence in this article.

Let the detailed study of Lori Lightfoot's agenda, actions, and administration inform readers that she is a corrupt fascist. If that is indeed what she is, the honest report of her actions will be conveyed to readers. For Conservapedia to be what I think its founder intends it to be, and what I hope it will be, articles here should not contain the types of unprofessional, emotion-laden adjectives with which left wing writers soil their home.

The opening sentence of the article on Lori Lightfoot should be: Lori Lightfoot (born August 4, 1962) is the current Democrat mayor of Chicago. And that's all. The two removed adjectives (CORRUPT FASCIST) should be mentally inserted by readers as they study the objectively reported facts of her administration.

Comment: Now, none of these results would be considered under Wikipedia's Reliable sources policy as "marginal, fringe. and extreme", many if not most people would consider them "mainstream", and if you can find a single one that you would consider "conservative", please let me know. But the point is, the term "racist" appears on the pages of all 20 results. Why is that? RobSZ 00:48, May 2, 2022 (EDT)

Now, if you believe bias needs to be hidden, you need to reinsert the search engine terms "corrupt" and "fascist" - directly linking Lighfoot to those adjectives - somewhere in the body of the text, otherwise it goes back into the Intro, probably out of sheer laziness on our part cause this disgusting creature isn't worth spending a lot of time or intellectual energy on. All right, to show that I'm on your side, I'll do so. Look for my concession in the introduction below the first sentence. But if I'm being told by you that my sincere interest in helping is not wanted and will be removed by continually reverting my contributions, I'll clear out of here and look elsewhere for what is better.

Oh, not at all. We appreciate it very much. As I said, it's just laziness on our part, assuming a conclusion that most people already know. RobSZ 01:21, May 2, 2022 (EDT)

Thanks. I'm looking for a home. I come from Wikipedia where I have over ten years of membership and hundreds of contributions. They're good for STEM info but irritating as hell with the left wing bias on politics and history. It may be years before this here gets up to the volume of material that they have. But I'm willing to put my time and effort here because of what this can be. I hope you accept the sentence I added in Lightfoot's article after the introduction.
