Talk:Oil
WPoe, first you need to use your real name (I don't believe "Poe" is your actual surname). Second, you need to stop injecting Christian-sounding viewpoints into factual articles.
You may, however, write about alternate viewpoints if you label them as such. If there is a small group that has an idea about something that contradicts the mainstream, we will not censor it. We are not Wikipedia, but are more NPOV-ish than they are, when it comes to the major controversies of our day.
Feel free to write about Creationist ideas, but be sure to label them properly. Do not pretend that they have become mainstream, if they have not. Wikipedia frequently censors ideas, on the grounds that including them would violate some sort of "equal time" provision of their NPOV policy, but that is just an excuse. Any relevant idea may be placed in an article. You just have to explain its revelance, and avoid making a minority view appear to have more support than it does. --Ed Poor Talk 14:28, 8 February 2011 (EST)
- Leaving aside the bit about how "mainstream" the idea is, I suspect the rest of the info should be put back in, as AiG is among the best sources on YEC scientific explanations, and is cited. DouglasA 17:09, 8 February 2011 (EST)
Removed the bit about abiotic oil. That belongs on the Petrolium page. --HarabecW 21:35, 17 May 2011 (EDT)
The crude oil price has little meaning vis-a-vis profitablity. The cost of production varies widely between oil producing countries, and particularly the more expensive wells dependent upon fracking. RobSZelensky didn't kill himself 13:15, December 13, 2023 (EST)

- I think you're in over your head again. As a propagandist, you've got a lot to learn. To begin with, you need to choose a subject with some ambiguity, and not a subject where outlandish claims can be so easily shot down. Basically, the reading public can get offended easily if they get the impression that the author thinks the reading public is as stupid and simple minded as the author is. Page move
This page needs to be moved. It gives the impression that crude oil is fit for human consumption like olive oil is. RobSZelensky didn't kill himself 14:20, December 13, 2023 (EST)
Trump's name in subhead
Trumps name is in text. it doesn't belong in a subheading on a page that is misnamed to begin with (see above about page move). RobSZelensky didn't kill himself 14:23, December 13, 2023 (EST)
