Talk:Robert Malone

Malone's claim seems dubious, though it is probably true that as a graduate student he may have contributed something - along with many others (The Atlantic). Anyhow it needs checking further. --Jackin the box (talk) 16:31, February 2, 2022 (EST)

Malone was vetted some months ago. [1] RobSLet's Go Brandon! 17:14, February 2, 2022 (EST)
Yes, but see [2]. The following provides a fuller picture of Malone's place in the history of mRNA research.
Malone contributed to important early research. A pair of papers he coauthored with two other researchers in 1989 and six other researchers in 1990 showed that mRNA could be delivered into cells using lipids, and that doing so with mice could trigger the production of new proteins. The two papers were the first reference in a 2019 history of the mRNA vaccine technology.
But development of today’s COVID-19 vaccines was built on the work of many scientists and would not have been possible without other discoveries that cleared major hurdles. An early 2000s breakthrough from the University of Pennsylvania’s Drew Weissman and Katalin Karikó, for example, uncovered a way to keep the immune system from attacking injected mRNA(Politifact.com).

yah yah yah we saw all that. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 17:56, February 2, 2022 (EST)
Please look at your watch - it is February 2022. I don't think CP at this point is considering Politifact as any sort of authoritive fact checker. You can do better. Let's not waste anymore time on this. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 14:38, February 11, 2022 (EST)
RobS, it seems to me at least, highly unlikely that one researcher invented this type of vaccine and multiple sources support that. Is Nature a better source
How about his own words? See the Tucker Carlson interview linked from MPR. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 15:28, February 11, 2022 (EST)
We do not need to refute claims he never made. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 15:30, February 11, 2022 (EST)

See also Logically. I'll look into this further – the wording still needs tweaking to save confusion.--Jackin the box (talk) 15:48, February 11, 2022 (EST)

Fixed. We need a section on his perspective of patenting a scientific discovery he participated in, not commenting on the false notion that he personally made the claim he invented mRNA and patented it. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 15:56, February 11, 2022 (EST)
"made a major contribution in the 1980s to the early development" is a bit wordy; how about, "was a major contributor to the development"? RobSLet's Go Brandon! 16:31, February 11, 2022 (EST)
