The Survival Podcast
The Survival Podcast is a daily online audio show about self-sufficiency and self-reliance in the modern world. It is a modern preparedness podcast created in 2008 by libertarian survivalist Jack Spirko of Texas. It is listened to daily by more than 500,000 listeners. As of January 6, 2015, there are 1493 1 to 1.5-hour long episodes. According to Spirko in November 2014, his audience is mostly conservatives with some libertarians.
Spirko conceived and created the podcast because he realized how fragile the human condition and the United States economy really are. The shows are contain interviews, listener questions, listener call in, and Spirko discussing a preparedness topic by himself. Since 2013 he includes a "This Year in History Segment" focused on interpreting and discussing past famous historical events from a modern libertarian preparedness point of view.
