Transgender and high school sports

In conservative states of the United States, only biological women are allowed to compete in women's sports such as women's swimming/track and field, etc.

Transgender and high school sports concerns the state-by-state policies that allow boys to compete unfairly in girls' sports in high school, by referring to themselves as transgender girls.

In conservative states of the United States, only biological women are allowed to compete in women's sports. In liberal/leftist states, transexuals are allowed to compete in women's sports.

  • The Fairness in Women’s Sports Act (2021) "bars transgender girls and women from playing on public school teams intended for student athletes identified as girls at birth."[2] In 2023, a high school was harshly punished for violating this by allowing a biological boy -- who had been using a girls' name since second grade -- to play on girls' volleyball.[2]
  • Texas prohibits transgenders from competing in the opposing gender's sports, but allows girls receiving testosterone as transgenders to gain an unfair advantage in girls' sports
