Hello, The Article Improver, and welcome to Conservapedia!

We're glad you are here to edit. We ask that you read our Editor's Guide before you edit.

Thanks for reading, The Article Improver!

Thanks for your improvements. Regarding your The Battle of Sunshine Church article, please leave out the "The" at the beginning unless that's actually part of the name (and in this case, it's not). But don't worry about fixing it for this article -- I'm taking care of it -- just for future reference.
Also, if you're going to create Civil War battle articles, I recommend you use Template:ACWbattle, which helps a reader neatly and quickly read the information of the battle. If you're going to create an article of a non-U.S. Civil War battle, please use Template:War instead.
I strongly recommend you carefully read Conservapedia:How to create and maintain high-quality articles if you're going to create articles. I also recommend you read Conservapedia:Guidelines. Thanks. --1990'sguy (talk) 19:49, 6 December 2017 (EST)
Thanks for correcting my mistakes, in the article. I'm new to writing articles, so I expected to get a few things wrong, at first. I suppose my name is a little redundant right now, considering the mistakes I made.
Also, thanks for linking the info that you did. I'll make sure to read it, before continuing to create or edit any more articles. --The Article Improver (talk) 20:34, 6 December 2017 (EST)
Many people do make mistakes when just starting out. Those pages should help you out some, but if you have any questions or problems, I'd be happy to help! Welcome to Conservapedia! --David B (TALK) 21:35, 6 December 2017 (EST)
One question: I notice that on your article, you have a number of "external links" which are to specific pages on the subject. This is fine, but did you use these pages as sources while writing? If so, they would be better labeled as "references". The external links section is usually reserved for related but unused websites. --David B (TALK) 21:42, 6 December 2017 (EST)
Thanks for your offer to help when needed, David. And to answer your question, the links I put in the article I did in fact use for reference, when writing. I will gladly change the heading to "references", so as to be more concise. Thank you for pointing that out. --The Article Improver (talk) 22:26, 6 December 2017 (EST)
Any time! I just wanted to check, since references are a little more complex. Ideally, they will actually be included in the body text in such a way that the wiki software places a tag there, and listed it underneath. A basic write-up on doing this is provided here.
In short, you would do something like this: Pluto has been reclassified as a dwarf planet, because it has been found to be smaller than an official planet.<ref>http://example.com</ref> Pluto is actually just one of many asteroids in a belt around the outside of our solar system<ref>http://www.example.org</ref>
The wiki software takes the content of the "<ref>" tags and places a tag there which links to the reference listing below. Down at the bottom, you place "{{reflist}} where you want the list to be displayed. Here is what would happen with the example above:

Pluto has been reclassified as a dwarf planet, because it has been found to be smaller than an official planet.[1] Pluto is actually just one of many asteroids in a belt around the outside of our solar system[2]

References

External links

Hopefully this clarifies a bit. This way, when a reader wants to see the source for a specific statement, they can click on the small number in the text body, and they will be brought down to where that specific reference is listed. Hopefully, this is helpful rather than confusing.
I believe I understood correctly, this time around. I added reference tags to the article, and put the links I didn't use for research in the "External links" section. Don't hesitate to let me know if anything else needs to be corrected, though. Thank you very much for your help, so far. --The Article Improver (talk) 01:42, 7 December 2017 (EST)
Yes, you got it--thanks! --David B (TALK) 22:42, 7 December 2017 (EST)
