Regina is the capital city of the Canadian Province of Saskatchewan. It was founded in 1882 upon the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway, named for Queen Victoria which in Latin would have been Victoria Regina. The population of Regina was 179,246 (an increase of only +0.6% from 2001)[1]
Sports
The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League are a well loved sporting tradition. The team is owned by the community and play at Taylor Field. Some fans will travel 200–250 miles to watch home games.
