2016 presidential election recount

After the 2016 presidential election, in which businessman Donald Trump won, Stein had raised at least $5 million to recount the votes in Wisconsin, and she stated she would do the same for Michigan, and Pennsylvania.[4] Stein made this move despite the fact that she won only about 1 percent of the vote and likely contributed to Clinton's loss, as well as the fact that the Trump won by very wide margins for a recount—almost 11,000 votes in Michigan,[5] the narrowest margin, and over 70,000 votes or 1.17 percentage points in Pennsylvania, the widest margin.[6]

As of November 28, 2016, Stein raised almost twice as much money for the recounts than she did for her entire 2016 presidential campaign.[7]
