After the Gulf War Dick Cheney was CEO. As Vice President, Cheney and the company came under criticism for sweetheart deals and no-bid contracts to develop fracking technology and energy independence. It is estimated that Halliburton made $39.5 billion off the Iraq War.[1]
Dick Cheney personally received a payout of about $35 million from Halliburton when he left the company to join the ticket of presidential candidate George W. Bush,[2] and Cheney's total compensation from that company could have been far in excess of even that number.
Camp Bondsteel
Camp Bondsteel, the main base of the US Army under KFOR command in Kosovo, was built by Brown & Root -- a subsidiary of Halliburton, which Dick Cheney headed when he was in the private sector.[3]
Headquarters
Their headquarters moved from Texas to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.[4]
