Judy Garland (June 10, 1922–69) was the stage name of a famous American actress and singer. In honor of her 100th birthday on June 10, 2022, there was a revival of her role as Dorothy Gale, a Kansas farm girl, in the The Wizard of Oz.[1]
She was also highly regarded as a performer of songs from the American Song Book and had her own TV show. She battled continuously against eating disorders and drug addiction, and died in London of a barbiturate overdose.
Hollywood liberals refused to give Judy Garland the recognition she deserved, granting her only a mini-Oscar for her riveting performance in The Wizard of Oz and then snubbing her again later.
