The Assassination attempt on President Donald Trump occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024. President Donald J. Trump was on stage, near the beginning of his speech, at MAGA rally while campaigning for the 2024 Presidential election.
Within minutes into Trump's speech, a shooter attempted to assassinate Donald Trump. Multiple shots were fired. Trump was injured, bullets grazing his ear, an attendee died and two were seriously injured. Shooter was eliminated. Trump was quickly shielded by Secret Service. As he stood up while shielded by agents.[1] Trump defiantly called out to all: 'fight' while putting out his fist - a couple of times.[2][3] Crowd reacting: 'USA!'
The iconic image of remarkable Trump pumping fist: 'Fight! Fight! Fight!' engraved in US history.
Trump was close to being killed - by an inch. Survived by the grace of God.
Trump's assassination attempt was condemned by current and former political figures, left and right, the world over. The attack marks the first time a sitting or former US president was injured in an unsuccessful assassination attempt since Ronald Regan was shot in March 1981, over 43 years prior. After Reagan, Trump is the seventh US president to be subject to a successful or unsuccessful assassination attempt, the others being the failed attempt on Theodore Roosevelt, and the succeeded attempts on Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield, William McKinley and John F. Kennedy.

In April 2024 Democrats introduced a bill in Congress to remove Secret Service protection from President Donald Trump.[4] The bill's chief sponsor was Rep. Bennie Thompson who chaired the J6 witch hunt. Thompson has been under investigation by the House for destroying the J6 panel's files.
Incitement leading to crime
It came after years and moreso in recent weeks, the left and liberal media has been vilifying president Trump[5] as being supposedly a "danger to democracy." In A hot mic caught Journos joking about Trump being assassinated while attending a lawfare hearing in Washington, D.C.[6] On July 7, 2024 some leftists called him a "Hitler." After Democrat nominee Joe Biden's disastrous debate performance and calls from his own party and the liberal media to resign,[7] five days before an assassination attempt, Kenneth P. Vogel of The New York Times reported that Biden told donors, "We’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye."[8][9][10][11][12][13]
Former US Attorney General Bill Barr tweeted:[14]
The Democrats have to stop their grossly irresponsible talk about Trump being an existential threat to democracy - he is not.”
Commentators[15] brought up Democrats' reaction to Antifa 2020 violence. As well as violence at the anti-Israel riots (Oct 7 War) and most of the charges at Columbia University rioters dropped by Alvin Bragg, an elected Democrat; the reaction to the (Genocidal) "From the river to the sea."

The shooter
The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks,[17][18] a 20-year-old male from the Bethel Park, PA, was bear-crawling up the roof[19] of an elevated structure a few hundred metres away outside the venue.[20] A spectator was murdered in the shooting, and two others critically injured.
Trump's reaction
Trump's statement -- soon after -- on TruthSocial was:[21]
I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Later, Trump sent out an email:[22][23] 'I will Never Surrender!'
Eric Trump
Donald Trump's son Eric reacted:[24] "Never surrender!"
And:[25]
"This is the fighter America needs."
