You can see where this is all heading already. Never mind the obvious in front of you own eyes. Rather than being investigated for the attempt to kill Trump, it will result in a bigger budget and more funding for the Secret Service due to "lack of resources". Just like how the Capitol Police got a $2 billion bonus to open offices in 50 states and 435 Congressional districts (and get drone technology) after J6 (oh yah, and the Capital Police are exempt from normal oversight and FOIA cause they are in the legislative branch, not the executive branch).
