Margarita Simonyan

Margarita Simonyan is the Editor-in-Chief of RT since 2005.[1] Simonyan is a Christian of Armenian-Tater descent.

During the 2023 Gaza conflict, Simonyan voiced her opposition the notion of "collective guilt and responsibility" based on the fact that Soviet leader Josef Stalin had ordered the mass deportation of her family due to Tater collaboration with the Nazi occupation of Crimea during World War II.

In the fraudulent 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) ordered by US President Barack Obama and drawn up CIA director John Brennan and FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok[2] making the false allegation of Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election in order to sabotage the presidency of Donald Trump, Simonyan is painted as the primary Russian mastermind and boogeyman carrying out the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.[3]

In 2025 Simonyan commented on American political culture:

“ Modern American political culture will go down in history as a turning point, of course. Like the English Industrial Revolution. Only in reverse. But it's fun to watch. ”

Quotes

  • I lived in America. I love America.[4]
