Margarita Simonyan
Margarita Simonyan is the Editor-in-Chief of RT since 2005.[1] She is a graduate of the Vladimir Pozner School for Television Excellence. Simonyan is a Christian of Armenian-Tater descent. Part of her family survived the Armenian Genocide.[2]
During the 2023 Gaza conflict, Simonyan voiced her opposition the notion of "collective guilt and responsibility" based on the fact that Soviet leader Josef Stalin had ordered the mass deportation of her family due to Tater collaboration with the Nazi occupation of Crimea during World War II.
In the fraudulent 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) ordered by US President Barack Obama and drawn up CIA director John Brennan and FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok[3] making the false allegation of Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election in order to sabotage the presidency of Donald Trump,[4][5] Simonyan, who us mentioned 27 times in the report,[6][7] is painted as the primary Russian mastermind and boogeyman carrying out the supposed instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.[8]
