:::Bottom line is that if an editor has things that are not ranking, they need to go after more attainable search terms and have high enough quality in their content. In addition, its a numbers/volume game. If you are spending a ton of your time on main page talk or other talk pages (which are pages that do not rank at Google typically), you are not spending enough time creating content. Content is king and links are queen, but talk, talk, talk isn't even worth a pawn when it comes to creating a lot of traffic.
