The Center for American Progress (CAP) is a liberal progressive political "leftwing think tank",[1] a tax-exempt 501(c) activist group headquartered in Washington D.C.
The CAP says they are "dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through ideas and action". In reality, it's a secret "brain trust" within the Democratic National Committee and developed specifically to promote Democrat ideas and candidates.[2] According to their website, they "expose the hollowness of conservative governing philosophy, and challenge the media to cover the issues that truly matter."
