The Minnesota Twins are a Major League Baseball team in the American League Central Division.

The franchise started in 1894 and ultimately became the first iteration of the Washington Senators. Except for one World Series win in 1924 and three American League titles, the team was generally poor performing, leading to an old saying "Washington: First in War, First in Peace, and Last in the American League". Ownership decided to relocate, but ran into resistance due to being located in the nation's capital, which ultimately led to a compromise: the team would move to Minnesota for the 1961 season and rename as the Twins (named for the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul), while at the same time a new Washington Senators team was added to the league (it would relocate a decade later to Texas as the Texas Rangers).

They play in Minneapolis, Minnesota, currently in the newly built outdoor Target Field. One of the most famous and beloved players to play for the Twins was Kirby Puckett.

World Series Titles: 3 (1924, 1987, 1991)

American League Pennants: 6 (1924, 1925, 1933, 1965, 1987, 1991)
