As of 2024, Belichick holds the NFL record for the most playoff wins (31) and has the second-most victories overall (333).[1] He is particularly known as one of the greatest defensive masterminds in NFL history.
After going 4-13 as head coach of the Patriots in 2023, the owner of the Patriots said on ESPN that he was "really disappointed," and then Belichick quit.[2] In 2024, Belichick signed a 5-year contract to coach the University of North Carolina Tar Heels college football team[1] after reportedly becoming disgusted with the NFL.
