The connection of Death and Sin is first seen in the Bible at ({{bibleverse||Genesis|2:17|NIV}}) where God said that Sinning, or disobeying his commandment, would result in death for the otherwise immortal humans, [[Adam]] and [[Eve]]. The "dying process" so-to-speak took much longer for those closer to the original state of being clean of Sin, with humans prior to the flood of [[Noah]]'s day living as old as 900 plus years ({{bibleverse||Genesis|5:14|NIV}}). A good example of this can be seen in [[Adams]] death at 930 years at ({{bibleverse||Genesis|5:5|NIV}}), or Noah’s at 950 years at ({{bibleverse||Genesis|9:29|NIV}}). As the narrative in the [[Bible]] continues, the "dying process" of Sin shortens the length of life in humans until it is stated in ({{bibleverse||Psalms|90:10|NIV}}) that, "The length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength".
