Outdated?

Morning Northwest. The word “outdated” doesn’t sound right. This is not a matter of ideology but language, unless you believe that Beethoven, Shakespeare, and Eliot’s “The Wasteland” are outdated. Though modernism does appear to be largely a progressive, or liberal movement, there were prominent modernists who were conservative Christians – T. S. Eliot is one obvious example. Re postmodernism it can be described as wrong, but it exists now, not in the past. In literature, techniques like stream of consciousness are still in date, whatever your politics. Likewise do philosophical ideas, works of art, or music become outdated? Neither you, nor RobS seem to know much about this topic. What is there to discuss? Modernists, just like after the end of the Cold War, thought they reached the end of history. All it proves is progressives do not know how to use words or language. Or for that matter, how to think about the future. RobS^Z 18:26, May 9, 2022 (EDT)

Use of the term "Modernism", by Modernists back in the day, is what the Bible calls pride. They thought they were so much more smarter than anything or anybody that came before them.
