These lectures are a complete course in American History, as a substitute for a textbook.[1]
  1. A concise full-year American history textbook contains about 200,000 words. See, e.g., Allan Nevins and Henry Steele Commager. A Short History of the United States (1952 5th Ed. 1966: Alfred A. Knopf) [2]. Our lectures for this course in lieu of a textbook total about 103,000 words.
    • Lecture One (about 7,800 words - updated and ready to use)
    • Lecture Two (about 8,400 words - updated and ready to use)
    • Lecture Six (about 9,400 words - updated and ready to use)
    Midterm exams from 2008:
    • Lecture Ten (about 6,800 words - updated and ready to use)
