Steven L. Beshear is the Democratic governor of Kentucky. He was elected in 2007. His second term will expire on December 8, 2015, and will be replaced by conservative Republican Matt Bevin.
Despite being a Democrat, Beshear embraces his Christian values and supports the construction of Answers in Genesis' and Ark Encounter LLC's Ark Encounter project in northern Kentucky.
