Bourneville is a town in the United Kingdom best known for being the home of Cadburys Chocolate, one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in Europe. Cadburys popular dark chocolate is actually named Bourneville after the town.
Although the chocolate is manufactured here, the packing and boxing prior to retail is carried out in a Lancashire town called Nelson. As the volume of goods transported between the two towns is so great, a specially chartered train, known locally as the "cocoa shunter" makes several trips per day.
