2020 U.S. House election in Texas' 24th district
After incumbent Republican representative Kenny Marchant announced that he would not run for re-election in 2020, Van Duyne quickly announced her bid to succeed Marchant.[1] She is among four Republican women running for Congress who are known as the Conservative Squad, which also includes Nancy Mace, Michelle Fischbach, and Jessica Taylor.[2] Van Duyne's run is endorsed by Donald Trump.[3]
Van Duyne easily won the Republican primary held on March 3, 2020 with over 60% of the vote.[4]
