Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappé (b. Dec. 20, 1998) is the spectacular soccer (European football) player from France and one of the greatest athletes ever. He scored 3 goals, plus an overtime shootout goal, in the World Cup finals in 2022. He won the coveted Golden Boot award for the entire tournament, in which he scored 12 goals and became, at the age of only 23, the sixth all-time top goalscorer in World Cup history (tied with Pelé). As of July 5, 2026, he ranks #2 in the all-time World Cup career scoring, and likely to become #1 ever. His father is from Cameroon, and his mother is of Algerian descent.
He was born in Paris and has lived in that area his entire life. He is a practicing, outspoken Christian.[1] His father is Christian and his mother is Muslim. Kylian attended a private Roman Catholic high school.
His dominating, nearly unstoppable performance in the World Cup finale in 2022 established him as best young player in the world.[2] As of 2022 he is thought to be the highest-paid soccer player in the world, at an age of only 23.
Mbappe is perhaps the greatest athlete in the world in any sport. His speed is estimated to be as fast or faster than the quickest NFL players, and his agility is arguably the best of an athlete.
