The Weekly Standard is a popular conservative newsweekly, started September 17th, 1995, and headed up by Fred Barnes, co-host of The Beltway Boys on Fox News, and Bill Kristol, another Fox News contributor. It is generally considered to be one of the Top Three right-leaning publications, along with William F. Buckley's National Review and the American Spectator. It features such writers as P.J. O'Rourke, Irwin Stelzer and Charles Krauthammer.
The Weekly Standard is neoconservative rather than conservative.
