James made her TNA debut in June 2002 under the ring name Alexis Laree. By 2003 she earned a higher profile role in the company and was added to Raven's new group known as The Gathering. The Gathering's goal was to help Raven in what was ultimately his unsuccessful attempt to defeat Jeff Jarrett for the TNA World Heavyweight title.
