The Nashville Predators are a hockey team based in Nashville, Tennessee. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Predators were founded in 1998, although they have not gained a large following. This lead to the sale of the team to Canadian Jim Balsillie, the co-CEO of Research in Motion (RIM). The speculation is that if the sale is finalized the team may move the team to southwestern Ontario, possibly Hamilton, although this would require the approval of the NHL Board of Governors and a payment made to the already exisiting local teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres. The Predators currently play at the Sommet Cente.
