Nicholas Joseph “Nick” Fuentes is an American internet personality, supporter of Joe Biden's disastrous foreign policy,[1] and a self-described paleoconservative commentator who runs a podcast he dubbed America First on YouTube, and previously ran the Nationalist Review (not to be confused with National Review) podcast with James Allsup. He has been criticized by both liberals and mainstream conservatives for numerous bigoted remarks, although he says he is joking.[2] Fuentes, like Charlottesville protest organizer Richard Spencer, is said to be a federal agent and provocateur.[3] Fuentes claimed the U.S. federal government has seized his assets and placed him on a no-fly list to force compliance, although he's issued denials by saying "federal informants won't even work with" him, referring to the Oath Keepers.[4]
Education
Fuentes graduated from Lyons Township High School and was president of the school's student council.
Career
On August 12, 2017, Fuentes flew from Chicago to Virginia to attend the Second Day of the so-called 'Unite The Right' rally in Charlottesville organized by Richard Spencer. Fuentes claimed that the majority of protesters in attendance were not KKK members nor were they Neo-Nazis. The notorious far left racist rag, The New York Times attributed prejudicial comments to Fuentes.
Previously, Fuentes worked as a host on the Right Side Broadcasting Network; however, he was abruptly fired after making a statement on his show that the First Amendment is only meant for citizens, not immigrants and foreigners, and that mainstream media networks, such as CNN, should be held responsible for making people believe it was universal. He later left Boston University after receiving several death threats and declared that he wished to move to Auburn University.
Political views
Fuentes is a devout Catholic and self-described paleoconserative. He has criticized the establishment and the left many times.
Although, Fuentes has made anti-Semitic remarks, including using bigoted tropes following the Charlottesville attack.[2] He has also mocked the atrocities of the Holocaust.[2] He has also defended Jim Crow laws which were instituted by the Democratic Party.[2]
Fuentes has whined over President Trump condemning white supremacy, and similarly attacked Dinesh D'Souza in a childish manner.[2] He also also expressed sympathetic remarks for Antifa.[2] Fuentes claims to be joking, and seems to be overly ironic though.
Controversy
On August 7, 2019, Fuentes got into a feud with Matt Walsh on Twitter over comments Walsh had made about a mass shooting by a suspected White Supremacist in which Walsh says that "white racist scumbags should be executed". Fuentes had made what detractors call an "Antisemitic outburst" on his show, America First over the comments made by Walsh, who writes for Daily Wire. Fuentes called Walsh derogatory terms and said that he "works for Jews", he is a "Race Traitor" and a "Shabbos Goy".
