That, plus the fact that Obama's father was a British subject at the time of Obama's birth and never made an effort to become a US citizen at any time, is reason enough to leave the footnote where it is. I like the change of color on the Presidents graphs that say when they lived, what their party was etc. Blue is a far better color than purple in this case. -Additioner 14:04, 23 July 2007 (EDT)

Opening

The first section is a bit rough, I'm going to do a quick rewrite and see if we like it better? Samwell 14:43, 15 September 2007 (EDT) PS I'm going to move "POTUS" to a trivia section below as well. SW

Confusing Sentence re. double job description

What is the intended meaning of the sentence:

"The writers of the constitution recognized that they were writing a job description which, in England, was and is filled by the office of the Prime Minister and position of the Monarch."

Is it that, in England, the equivalent position takes both people mentioned? Or is it that the job in the US is equal to those two roles combined into one? Neither of these statements is correct. I would reword it but want to discover what people mean? FNNoonan 18:40, 4 February 2009 (EST)

The use of the middle name

I have a question concerning the use of the middle name of His Excellency the Honourable Barack H. Obama II, and the fact that the middle names of the other former presidents of the United States are not written. I have no problem with the fact that His Excellency has a name that celebrates his origins on his father's side, and that is something that he should be promoted in a multicultural society, however, I am wondering if this fact that His Excellency's middle name of Hussein is not used as a attach to His Excellency.

I think we should list all of the names the same. If we list Obama's middle name in full then we should list the full middle name of all other presidents as well. If we only put the middle initial of all other presidents then we should put the middle initial for Obama as well. (Jvclark2 12:41, 7 July 2011 (EDT))

Nope, it's been discussed already. Obama forbid the use of his middle name during his campaign. Upon inauguration, he chose to use his full name and so shall we. Retroactively applying middle names to all former presidents is non-starter here. --Jpatt 12:52, 7 July 2011 (EDT)

Republican

how can the presidents 3-6 be republican when the party did not form until the late 1850's? --Wallywally (talk) 19:27, 10 February 2016 (EST)

Now we have a Canadian ingratiating himself with the powers that be at CP. AlanE (talk) 02:51, 2 May 2016 (EDT)

And? Judging by your tone...
Now we have a Canadian ingratiating himself with the powers that be at CP.
...you don't seem to believe that Canadians have a right to contribute to this site (especially if that Canadian happens to be politically conservative and is not a supporter of Barack Obama or his policies). Northwest (talk) 03:20, 2 May 2016 (EDT)

Request to remove Obama's footnote, given that he has publicly released his birth certificate

"There is doubt as to the legitimacy and legality of Obama's claim to the Presidency due to his refusal to disclose his birth records and his history prior to his announcing his plan to run for President as a Democrat candidate in 2007. He has determined to keep his records sealed because revelation of such would reveal that, under Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution, he is not only not eligible to hold the office of President but was ineligible to even run for the Presidency, thereby making both his Presidential run and his subsequent assumption of the office illegal under the Constitution. As such, Obama's ineligibility to run for or hold the office of President would mean that the United States of America has not had a legitimate government since January 20, 2009, the day that Obama assumed the office."

This should be revised or removed. While doubt has been cast, Obama did in fact release his Birth Certificate and it can be publicly viewed. While there are still some people who would claim it's a forgery and that he is indeed not an American citizen, there is more proof than not that he IS a citizen and was born here, and arguments that state he was not born here should be met with a demand for objective proof. If anyone would like to keep the above text, despite this proof, I suggest you provide an equally strong counter claim, with evidence, that he is in fact not a US citizen. And by proof, I do not mean someone commenting with a link to the Barack Hussein Obama conservapedia page.

whitehouse.gov, surely an acceptable source, released his birth certificate here:https://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2011/04/27/president-obamas-long-form-birth-certificate and under the actual document can be viewed and downloaded at your leisure. That being said, I motion for the footnote above be removed entirely and not even be mentioned that there was any doubt, given that it has been disproved/dispelled, and it's disrespectful to the position (no other president on this page has any other conspiracies or scandals mentioned)

Be bold. RobS#NeverHillary 09:52, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
The fake birth certificate[1]...is that what you're talking about, Masamune? Is that what you want to have us believe? Karajou (talk) 09:56, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
