Coach

Hey, I'm not so sure about your Coach (sport) note that "In Europe and in Baseball (worldwide) the term used is manager." For baseball - what about a third base coach? Just to give you the heads up I might rephrase it a bit--IDuan 20:21, 23 January 2008 (EST)

Hey can you delete everything in this? Just so you know I put a delete tag on most of them just to get rid of the vandalism. Thanks--IDuan 16:27, 26 January 2008 (EST)

(Just so you know, since there's so much I asked DanH to go from the bottom up, and I figured if you had time you could go from the top down)--IDuan 16:44, 26 January 2008 (EST)

Request

Hey Joaquin - can you put up the numbers on the main page? With 98% reporting Obama has 55% of the vote - [1]--IDuan 21:31, 26 January 2008 (EST)

Done. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 21:52, 26 January 2008 (EST)
Thanks, I just thought those numbers would let the reader know how enormous of a routing it was, nice job finding the original article by the way!--IDuan 21:57, 26 January 2008 (EST)

Featured articles

Hey Joaquin - why don't we move Featured articles to Conservapedia:Featured articles - just for organization. Thoughts?--IDuan 20:03, 2 February 2008 (EST)

Thanks for the idea. There is a team for this article. Let me have their opinion. I will need some time as I am pretty busy at present. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 08:33, 3 February 2008 (EST)

Main page

Hey Joaquin - can you link to Super Bowl XLII on the main page instead of just Super Bowl? Thanks--IDuan 22:44, 3 February 2008 (EST)

Hey, I'm the one who asked you to do it - I should be thanking you! (P.S.: Thank you!) (uhh, wait - joaquin - just so you know, it's actually still just linking to super bowl)--IDuan 22:51, 3 February 2008 (EST)
Superb posting, Joaquin, as always!--Aschlafly 23:17, 3 February 2008 (EST)
Thank you Andy. Just following your example. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 23:21, 3 February 2008 (EST)

Hey Joaquin - just so you know there's an extra "[" in your second link on the new main page posting--IDuan 23:03, 12 February 2008 (EST)

Editing shortcut

A Sysop cleverly inserted a period after the title for the right side of the Main page for easy editing (just click on the period). I just imitated it by inserting a tiny click-on period after the title for the left side. This makes editing the Main page easier.--Aschlafly 09:07, 15 February 2008 (EST)

Thanks Andy, good idea. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 10:40, 15 February 2008 (EST)

Quick Contest

Hey Joaquín Martínez, we've decided to do a quick Contest 5 starting at what will probably be midnight tonight - so sign up as soon as possible! Conservapedia:Contest5#Those Interested In Participating Please Put Your Name Here.--IDuan 21:04, 16 February 2008 (EST)

Joaquin, can I interest you in Conservapedia:Contest5? This will be less intense and more fascinating than past contests due to some good rule changes. We have 3 versus 3 but if you could join then we'd make it 4 versus 4, which would be better.--Aschlafly 10:17, 17 February 2008 (EST)
Fine, I am in. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 10:21, 17 February 2008 (EST)
Great! Welcome!!! Let's get one more and then we can begin this afternoon.--Aschlafly 10:26, 17 February 2008 (EST)
We just had "kickoff" to start the contest! Our team has to improve entries created by the other team, beginning with Deconstruction. That means improving linked-to entries, adding links, etc. I just resolved one of its links, for example. You can also create your own "kickoff" new entry and add it to the list on the Conservapedia:Contest5 page for the other side to improve.--Aschlafly 17:31, 17 February 2008 (EST)
OK, thanks. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 17:33, 17 February 2008 (EST)

not sure...

this entry or this entry are worth twenty points. I think they are more like ordinary entries. All else is fine with your point system. Thanks! :P ~BCSTalk2ME 19:15, 17 February 2008 (EST)

Question

Joaquin, especially since you're on my team, I hate to question the value of your edits, but I think it's a stretch to call what you did here a "Quality insight" (which is defined as: "an edit that conveys a profound truth that is not widely known, and which has an effect on the reader for days. It can be succinct and need not contain multiple sentences or even a reference, though references are encouraged.") Now granted, I may be missing something, it certainly wouldn't be the first time, but I think that those edits would fall more into the "Ordinary edit" category.--IDuan 21:45, 17 February 2008 (EST)

You should do an explanation of that in the rules from the very beginning. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 21:50, 17 February 2008 (EST)
Wait ... what? - sorry I don't follow that.--IDuan 21:51, 17 February 2008 (EST) Wait - I think I get what you're saying, that we should've had that rule in there from the start? YEah, we did a last second rule change this morning - sorry for the misunderstanding.--IDuan 21:55, 17 February 2008 (EST)

Post-contest

Well done JM :) These contests get stiffer each time, and your team have certainly got us wondering whether we managed to pull off victory yet! Great work, and let's try to be on the same side next time :D 10px Fox (talk|contribs) 07:24, 21 February 2008 (EST)

Featured Article

Joaquín, Earth was a featured article last August. Surely there must be something of note which hasn't been featured before. Is there a list of previously featured articles? If not I think it would be a good idea to have one so people can browse the really good stuff. BrianCo 11:38, 2 March 2008 (EST)

There is such a list, but it only dates back to 13th December. Philip J. Rayment 17:58, 2 March 2008 (EST)

While I understand your point, it's not very encyclopedic. The only connection is.. they were authors, from roughly the same time period. Why not George Bernard Shaw. It reminds me of the Dean Martin article, it once had in the see alsos Salma Hayek, whats the connection? DLerner 09:42, 16 March 2008 (EDT)

Poe edits

I saw that you added a "See Also" section to the Poe article. Would you object if I moved the "External Reference" section above it? The External References are still specific to the article, so should, IMO, be above the See Also. A minor point, I understand. Boomcoach 12:04, 17 March 2008 (EDT)

Go ahead. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 12:05, 17 March 2008 (EDT)

Vegetarianism

The ancient Israelites were allowed to eat meat and fish. They lived with poverty similar to what happens in the third world today. Sometimes I explain to people why I am a vegetarian. Then I explain that I don’t think it’s wrong for poor third world people to eat the fish in any lake, river, stream or sea near them. Rather it would be wrong if they let their children suffer protein deficiency through doing without these fish. In America and Britain people are richer and don’t need fish.Veronica 10:23, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

Rich? They don't need fish? If so, they are loosing one of the tasty and healthiest thing in life, making them poor. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 12:31, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

Jesus probably ate kosher food as other Jews of his time did. He probably didn’t mix meat and milk. There is no record in the Bible that Jesus ever criticized the food any host offered him. The disciples probably did the same. In the Acts of the Apostles Peter said that nothing impure or unclean had ever passed his lips. Exemptions from the kosher laws came in the Acts of the Apostles. Jesus lived under third world conditions. The Jews of Israel had to keep livestock on land that is too dry for farming. Third world people can’t afford feed useless animals till they die of old age or disease. Then the meat would often be unfit to eat. We in Britain and America are fortunate that we can count on having enough to eat. With this come responsibilities. Veronica 12:53, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

And fish in the Bible? And rich countries like Japan? And rich Latin America with such a long long coast plenty of fish? You better review that dream. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 12:59, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

The two fish were probably significant because practising Jews are allowed to eat fish with meat or milk. Therefore all the people present could eat it regardless of what they had eaten before. I repeat they were all third world people and didn’t have the responsibilities that we have.Veronica 13:17, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

God bless you and your dream. Could you see fish?. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 13:23, 28 March 2008 (EDT)
What? --JanetR 12:37, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

Much appreciated, Joaquin. I sincerely hope your courage in saying that isn't used by others to punish you. On another matter, you might want to take a look at " deletion of lawyer values" over at Bohdan's. We seem to have someone there who isn't all they appear to be.....;-) --₮K/Talk 14:23, 29 March 2008 (EDT)
